Heather Wallace - Praise24

Thank you Lord for the gift of music!  I can't remember a time that music has not been an important part of my life, but my focus has changed over the years.  My mom loves to tell the story of when I was five and sang one night for everyone at a Waffle House.    I believe I was singing "Don't you Make My Brown Eyes Blue" with the jukebox.  I sang loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear me.  I loved to sing and I wanted everyone to hear what I had to say.  I still do, but I have a new song

My song is of God's grace, forgiveness and blessings, but in my life I would have to say MERCY and PATIENCE.  I can definitely attest to God's mercy and patience.  There have been many times in my life, and there still are, when I would have given up on me, but He didn’t!   He loves me no matter what!

Around the age of fourteen, my mom and I started attending church.  It was then that I was saved.  I wanted to serve God in some way, but I wasn’t sure how.  Even though I was a little nervous (okay..maybe it was more like a lot), I knew I had found my place to serve.  The more opportunities He gave me to sing, the more I knew this was the place for me.  I am so thankful for the encouragement I received from all of the people at that church.

In my late teens I started to stumble and make some really bad decisions, but He never let go of me.  Finally, one day when I was tired of being in control of my life, I decided to give it to Him completely.     I knew He would do a better job than me, and He has!    One of my favorite verses is Matthew 6:33 "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."     This verse always keeps me on track and reminds me of where I have been and where God wants me to be. 

The Lord has blessed me with a loving,supportive husband, two beautiful little girls, and a wonderful church.  I am also blessed with the opportunity to sing with Steve and Carissa.  Not only are we brothers and sisters in Christ, but we strongly believe in the ministry of music.  I thank the Lord everday for the opportunity to share with others His love through music.  Isn't it great how the Lord restores us!!
