Carissa Scott-Praise 24

I have been singing since I was just a toddler, or so I'm told! Growing up in a traditional 'christian home', I was practically raised in church I guess you might say. Growing up, my singing experience pretty much consisted of church choir type stuff for the most part. My mom was a professional vocalist, and I guess my biggest influence in music can be attributed to her! She always has encouraged me to use my gift of music for God's glory, although I preferred being behind the scenes at home helping with parts rather than singing in front of the audience or congregation. I have to say that I have been blessed with awesome christian parents who have been a huge influence in my life, as well as a loving, supportive sister!

However, as a teenager and young adult, a series of bad choices led me away from the Lord that I had given my life to as a child. I ran from Him for a long time, until I finally found myself so far from Him that my relationship with Him only seemed a distant memory or dream. But once I came to the end of myself, that is where Jesus came and picked me up and reminded me of His profound grace and love. I wish I could say my life was easy from that moment on, but just as the journey away from Him was long, so was the journey back. Has the road back been difficult? Yes... Has it been long? Yes.... Has it been worth it? Absolutely....! I guess now that is why it is so easy to sing and give back just a little bit of all He has given me.

I am in awe today and every day how much Jesus loves me and desires a relationship with me! And not only that, but desires to bless me beyond my wildest imagination - with a Godly husband who is so supportive and sacrifices so much for me; and with a precious son who loves life to the fullest and makes life so much fun!

I love Ephesians 3:20 that says "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us". Wow!!

We serve an awesome God that does deserve our Praise, 24 hours a day!!
